On August 1, 2019, former Tahidi High actress Jackie Matubia, popularly known as Jolene, spoke to Parents Magazine about her decision to leave the Citizen TV show.
According to Jolene, she quit the show after getting pregnant and tried to hide the pregnancy for four months before it became too difficult.
"I had to leave the show when I was four months pregnant because I'd bought so many skirts and it was getting harder to hide the bump," she said.
As a new mother, Jolene found the experience challenging, despite thinking she was ready for it.
Addressing divorce rumors, Jolene clarified that she and her husband, Kennedy Njogu, decided to keep each other off social media to avoid negativity and intrusion in their marriage.
"It was something we decided on together. Back when we were dating, we were all over social media and lovey-dovey but after a while we realized that we were opening up our marriage to people which could affect us negatively so we stopped," she explained.
