August 1st marks National Girlfriends Day, a celebration of the special women in our lives. However, as we reflect on the qualities that make a typical Kenyan girlfriend, it's hard not to notice some concerning trends.

- A ready-made man: Kenyan girlfriends often look for men who are rich, successful, and handsome, without putting in the effort to develop these qualities themselves.
- 'FBI-Detectives': Young Kenyan women have developed impressive detective skills, often using them to snoop on their partners and uncover secrets.
- Eating in high-end restaurants: Kenyan girlfriends often expect their partners to take them to expensive restaurants, where they consume more food than average men in Kenya.
These traits are not only concerning but also reflect the economic reality of the country. Many Kenyan girlfriends have lost touch with reality and expect their partners to provide for them, without putting in any effort themselves.
