Manchester United are on the cusp of securing their third summer signing, with Monaco's 16-year-old midfielder Hannibal Mejbri reportedly set to join the Red Devils.

According to sources, United have been in advanced talks with Mejbri's representatives for months, with the teenager's family initially agreeing to a deal with the Ligue 1 giants.

However, a disagreement over the terms of the agreement has threatened to derail the transfer, with the parties involved reportedly on the brink of a legal dispute.

Mejbri, who has been omitted from Monaco's youth set-up, is understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford, where he will join United's U18s squad as he awaits his professional debut.

His representatives are expected to travel to England in the coming hours to finalise the move, which will see Mejbri become United's third signing of the summer.

Mejbri's potential move to Manchester United comes after the Red Devils saw off late competition from Arsenal, who were also interested in the talented youngster.

As the transfer window draws to a close, United are expected to complete the deal in the coming hours, with Mejbri set to become the latest addition to the Old Trafford squad.
