Published on August 1, 2019, a woman claiming to be the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth's wife has emerged with a 5-year-old son, sparking controversy over his recognition in public.
The woman's emergence comes as the family is caught up in discussions over burial rites, place, and approach for the late MP.
According to reports by The Star, the woman claims that Ken's close allies and family are familiar with the 5-year-old boy.
However, the late MP's wife, Monica Okoth, was against the boy's recognition in public, declining to have him mentioned in Okoth's funeral announcement.
A close family member has come forward, stating that the late Kibra MP had informed them that the boy was his own, and that both the paternal and maternal grandparents have met the child and lived with him for days.
Ken loved the son very much, and there is nothing in question, the family member said.
Contrary to this, Okoth's mother had earlier insisted that the MP had sired no child with another woman, dismissing the reports of her grandson as false.
Ken did not sire any child, I know many women will come out to claim they have at least a child with Ken, Okoth's mother said.
