Published on August 1, 2019, Wazito FC, a Kenyan Premier League returnee, is making a strong statement ahead of the 2019/2020 season with a series of high-profile signings.
The club has splashed cash on big-name players, including Ugandan prodigy Mansoor Agu and Burundi captain Karim Niziyigimana, who joins from Uganda's Vipers.
According to sources, the new signings have inked two-year deals, with Agu and Niziyigimana joining deadly Kenyan forward Elvis Rupia, who joins from Zambia's Power Dynamos.
Wazito FC has reportedly spent around Sh8 million on the new signings, a significant investment in the team's bid to succeed in the upcoming season.
The club's Sporting Director, Solomon 'Sollo' Alubala, has expressed confidence in the team's chances, stating that the friendlies will help the new team settle and that they will be competing in the league to win it.
Wazito FC has identified Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County and Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, as their home grounds next season, with their opening game against Nzoia Sugar scheduled for August 30.
