On July 31, 2019, Tarbaj MP Ahmed Bashane made a significant contribution to the education sector in his constituency by donating learning materials and furniture to 37 schools.

The donation, which was flagged off on Monday, included assorted learning materials and furniture delivered to five secondary schools and 32 primary schools in Tarbaj sub-county, Garissa County.

Teachers from the beneficiary schools expressed their gratitude, stating that the donation would greatly improve the living conditions in the region and motivate them.

“The donation was from my initiative and friends from the diaspora,” said the lawmaker, highlighting the personal nature of the gesture.

As part of the event, MP Bashane also opened a new dormitory for Mansa Boys Secondary School, which was attended by officials from the Ministry of Education, Teachers Service Commission (TSC), teachers, and other stakeholders.

Principal Ismail Kunow of Mansa Secondary School commended the MP's initiative, saying, “Let me take this opportunity to appreciate the MP for providing us with desks, chairs, office tables, and executive chairs for teachers. We are getting bursaries on time and the infrastructure development has improved.”

Other school principals, including Mr. Mohamud of Sarman Secondary School, echoed similar sentiments, expressing their appreciation for the MP's support and the positive impact it would have on the education sector in the region.
