On July 31, 2019, FIFA announced the nominees for the Best FIFA Men's and Women's Player, Coach, and other awards.
Among the nominees for the Best FIFA Men's Coach award is Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi, who led the Algerian national team to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations last month.
Belmadi will compete against other top coaches, including France's Didier Deschamps, Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp.
The nominees for the Best FIFA Men's Player award include Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, and Virgil van Dijk, among others.
For the Best FIFA Women's Player award, the nominees include Lucy Bronze, Caroline Graham Hansen, and Ada Hegerberg.
