Martin Aliker, a 90-year-old Ugandan billionaire, revealed that his 60-year marriage to Camille has endured due to complete financial openness between the couple.
Speaking to the Daily Monitor, Aliker emphasized that his wife has always had access to their shared bank accounts and financial records. "Our finances are the same. We have no secret accounts. Camille can withdraw money from the bank. If for 60 years she has not withdrawn all of it, I do not think she will now," he said.
The couple, who relocated to Gulu from the United States, faced skepticism when they married. Aliker recalled asking his wife why she chose him despite Africa's reputation as the "dark continent" at the time. "Camille had many suitors in Chicago and beyond, but she chose to come to Gulu," he shared.
Aliker and Camille celebrated their diamond anniversary recently, with the billionaire offering advice to younger couples. "We have always been responsible for each other's growth and successes," he said.
