Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr. expressed sorrow over the Ethiopian Airlines crash that claimed 157 lives, including 32 Kenyans, on March 10, 2019. The incident occurred when the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft crashed en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
Kilonzo Jr. shared his condolences on social media, stating, "My condolences to the families and relatives who lost their loved ones in the tragic Ethiopian Airlines plane crash." He also mentioned traveling on a 737 MAX 8 just days before the disaster, questioning if it was the same aircraft involved.
Ethiopian Airlines confirmed all passengers aboard the crashed plane perished. The crash marked the second fatal incident involving the 737 MAX 8 model in five months, following a Lion Air crash in October 2018.
