Cytonn Investment has launched its asset management division, Cytonn Asset Managers Limited (CAML), following regulatory approvals from the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA). The firm received licenses to operate as a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Manager and Fund Manager, enabling it to offer regulated products for retail and institutional investors.
Cytonn CEO Edwin Dande emphasized the company's commitment to delivering competitive returns through rigorous product development and technological innovation. "We will maintain the same standards in all asset classes as we have in real estate, while enhancing client access to investment monitoring tools," he stated.
The division's launch coincides with the rebranding of the Seriani Money Market Fund to Cytonn Money Market Fund (CMMF). With KSh 21 billion in on-balance sheet assets and KSh 82 billion in projects under management, Cytonn aims to accelerate growth through its expanded regulatory footprint.
Cytonn Asset Managers Chairman Madhav Bhalla highlighted the significance of the licenses, noting they would strengthen market development. "Our focus remains on delivering attractive returns while contributing to the capital markets' growth," he said.
The event, held at Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi, was attended by National Treasury CAS Nelson Gaichuhie, former Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro, and other industry stakeholders.
