Standard Chartered Bank has introduced a mobile digital banking platform in Kenya, enabling customers to perform financial transactions remotely. The service, launched as part of the bank's digital transformation strategy, allows users to open accounts, save, borrow, and invest through a mobile application.

Kenya becomes the fifth African market to adopt the platform, following Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda. The digital solution provides over 68 services, including account management, bill payments, fund transfers, and insurance, accessible via smartphone.

Standard Chartered Kenya Managing Director Kariuki Ngari emphasized the platform's convenience, stating clients can access banking services anytime without visiting branches. "Our clients no longer need to pause their activities to handle banking; the bank is now available at their fingertips," he said.

The initiative aligns with the bank's commitment to technology-driven innovation. Ngari noted ongoing investments in digital infrastructure to enhance user experience and expand financial inclusion. The platform is available for both existing and new customers through app store downloads.
