Slovakian MP Anton Hrnko confirmed the deaths of his wife Blanka, son Martin, and daughter Michal in the Ethiopian Airlines crash that claimed 157 lives, including 32 Kenyans, on March 11, 2019. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Addis Ababa, with Hrnko sharing the news via Facebook.
Hrnko, a senior member of the Slovak National Party and National Council, posted a grieving message: "With deep sadness I announce that my dear wife Blanka, son Martin, and daughter Michal died during the air disaster in Addis Ababa today in the morning hours. Those who knew them, give them a quiet memory." His son Martin worked as a travel agent, according to sources.
The flight carried passengers from 35 nationalities, with Kenyan authorities confirming 32 citizens among the victims. Hrnko, who also served in the Slovakian Ministry of Defence and Parliament's Foreign Committee, has not publicly commented on the crash investigation.
