Greenlight Planet secured €1.8 million in crowdfunding from individual investors, marking its first such transaction. The funds will support the company's expansion in India's growing solar market, aiming to provide electricity to 560,000 people and reduce 128,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually by replacing fossil fuels.

Viktor Andersson, Debt Portfolio Manager at Trine, highlighted the investment's significance, calling Greenlight Planet a pioneer in off-grid electrification. He noted the partnership's potential to drive innovation in solar distribution and financing, offering investors a triple return through profit, social impact, and environmental benefits.

Trine's platform has facilitated €16 million in investments across 27 companies, delivering electricity to 400,000 people and avoiding 29,000 tons of CO2 emissions. Investors have received €2 million in repayments to date, with the Greenlight Planet deal representing the largest single transaction on the platform.
