The University of Nairobi's annual Nairobi Innovation Week is inviting startups to apply for its 2019 NIW.Startups initiative, with a deadline of April 5, 2019. Thirty selected startups will present their ventures during the event, gaining access to funding, investor networks, and mentorship opportunities.
Startups with existing profiles on the NIW.Startups portal must update their information to qualify. Eligible ventures include early-stage and growth-stage companies operating across 12 thematic areas aligned with Kenya's Big 4 Agenda, such as agriculture, health, fintech, and cleantech. Investors and startup enablers like venture capital firms and incubators will participate in the program.
The initiative focuses on innovation sectors including food security, renewable energy, education technology, and transport logistics. Selected startups will engage in mentorship sessions and pitch to a panel of industry stakeholders during the week-long event.
