The Lionesses will face off against Mozambique and Cape Verde in Group D of the FIBA women Afro Basket tournament, which tips off on August 10 in Dakar, Senegal.
Having secured the second position in Zone Five championships, the team is now set to compete in the FIBA Afro Basket, a tournament they last featured in 2013.
Under the guidance of Ronnie Owino and Everline Kedogo, the team has been training at the Nyayo National Gymnasium ahead of the continental showdown.
With a strong lineup that includes KPA's Vilma Achieng, who has been on top form in the league matches, and Equity Hawk's Betty Kananu, the Lionesses are confident of a good showing.
Queen of rebounds Felmas Keronga, who was awarded the best rebounder in Zone Five championships, will also be looking to add to her honors.
The competition will see 12 teams clustered in groups of three, with the top teams in each group earning qualification to the quarter finals and the second and third positions heading to knock-out stages.
The Lionesses will leave for Senegal on August 8.
