Flydubai confirmed its confidence in the safety of its Boeing 737 aircraft fleet on March 11, 2019, despite the recent crash of an Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX 8 on March 10. The airline stated it maintains regular communication with Boeing and prioritizes passenger and crew safety. China’s civil aviation authority, Ethiopian Airlines, and Cayman Airways had already grounded their 737 MAX 8 operations following the disaster.
A spokeswoman for Flydubai emphasized, "The safety of our passengers and crew is our first priority," while noting ongoing monitoring of the situation. The airline operates multiple Boeing 737 models, including the MAX 8 variant involved in the Ethiopian Airlines incident.
