Investigators have recovered a black box from the Ethiopian Airlines crash site, according to state media. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 Max-8, crashed shortly after takeoff on March 10, 2019, en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
All 157 passengers and crew aboard the flight perished in the disaster, including 32 Kenyan nationals. The plane crashed 60 kilometers southeast of Addis Ababa near Bishoftu, with over 30 nationalities represented among the victims.
The recovered black box is the cockpit voice recorder, which will aid investigators in determining the cause of the tragedy. Experts caution that the investigation remains in early stages, with no official findings released yet.
