Ethiopian authorities confirmed recovery of the flight data recorder from the Boeing 737 that crashed during a March 2019 flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi, killing all 157 people aboard.

The device was found near Bishoftu, about 60 kilometers southeast of the Ethiopian capital, as reported by state media cited by the BBC.

Search teams continued examining the crash site where debris remained scattered after the accident. The Ethiopian Airlines aircraft had departed Addis Ababa early Sunday with 149 passengers and eight crew members, according to reports.
