Comedian Eric Omondi faced embarrassment after Manchester United lost 2-0 to Arsenal in an English Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium, prompting him to retract a social media promise to 'give away his wife' if the team lost.

Omondi, a vocal Manchester United supporter, had previously mocked Arsenal fans with humorous memes and posted a video vowing to surrender his wife should United fail. The match, which saw goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, ended in a decisive victory for Arsenal.

Following the defeat, Omondi posted a new video denying the promise, stating, "It is true I said I would 'give away my wife,' but everyone knows I only have a girlfriend." He clarified, "I do not have a wife, so we should stop all the noises. Those insisting I should give away my wife should wait until I get married."

The result moved Arsenal to fourth place in the league with 60 points, while Manchester United dropped to fifth with 58 points.
