Posta Rangers head coach John Kamau has announced plans to recruit a forward capable of replicating the goal-scoring impact of Michael Olunga, whom he coached at Thika United in 2014.
Olunga, currently with Japanese second-division club Kashiwa Reysol, rose to prominence after his 2014 stint at Thika United before moving to Gor Mahia in 2015. Kamau highlighted his track record in developing prolific strikers, including Kepha Aswani and Eric Kapaito, during a recent interview.
The coach acknowledged Posta Rangers' struggles in converting chances, noting the team created over five scoring opportunities per game during the first half of the SportPesa Premier League season. Posta finished the opening round with 16 points from 17 matches, including a goalless draw against Kariobangi Sharks on March 9.
Kamau emphasized his focus on strengthening the attacking line during the midseason transfer window. He also confirmed plans to add three goalkeepers to the squad, citing the current reliance on a single keeper, Eliud Emase. Midfielders Wycliffe Kasaya and Levis Opiyo are reportedly set to depart as the club remains 13th in the standings with four wins and four draws.
