A Tanzanian waiter and a colleague face charges of assaulting a woman and forcibly removing her clothing during an altercation at a Nairobi restaurant, according to court records.
Yusuf Nahothan and Nicodemus Michael were charged with physically assaulting Zeynab Hussein on February 25 in Eastleigh, Nairobi, after a dispute over food service. The complainant visited a restaurant in the area that day and ordered fries, which she alleged were served cold.
She claimed she requested the food to be warmed but was told she would need to pay double for the service. The complainant stated she could not afford the additional cost, prompting the accused to reportedly call her a sex worker. Court documents detail the altercation escalating into physical violence.
During the argument, Nahothan attacked the woman while Michael tore off her clothing, leaving her exposed. A bystander provided her with a kanga for coverage before accompanying her to file a police report. The two suspects were released on a Sh50,000 bond and are scheduled for a court appearance on March 19.
