Ken Okoth, the 41-year-old Kibra MP, left an indelible mark on Kenyan politics before his untimely passing on July 26, 2019. His family has announced that he will be cremated in a private function.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga revealed that the body will be transported to Kasipul Kabondo constituency on Saturday, where a funeral service will be held at Rateng' Secondary School at 10am.

“Ken will be given to the family to do the rest…just like we did with Kenneth Matiba…so the family will do the rest,” said Raila.

Okoth had been battling Stage 4 colorectal cancer, which had metastasized to his liver. He had sought treatment in France and resided in Paris for about five months, citing the high cost of treatment in the US.

His condition deteriorated on Friday last week, and he was admitted to the ICU. His family revealed that they obliged to his earlier request that the life support machines be switched off.
