Jubilee and ODM lawmakers publicly challenged Deputy President William Ruto over his remarks targeting anti-graft initiatives, demanding he halt what they called destabilizing attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta's allies.
The confrontation occurred during a Nairobi church service where legislators including Maina Kamanda, Simba Arati, and Joshua Kuttuny urged Ruto to stop undermining government anti-corruption strategies. Attendees also included MPs Mercy Gakuya, Anthony Oluoch, and Paul Koinange, among others.
Kamanda warned that officials accused of embezzling public funds should cease issuing threats against communities. 'If they wish to leave the government, let them do so quietly,' he stated. Arati criticized Ruto for using close allies to attack the president, declaring, 'We cannot allow this nation to regress.' Kuttuny echoed these concerns, calling for an end to intimidation tactics.
