The team has accumulated 18 points across six events this season, failing to advance beyond the pool stage in Dubai, Cape Town, Sydney, and Canada. Their best performance came as runners-up in the Challenge Trophy at Hamilton, where they lost to England.
Wales moved ahead of Kenya by securing five points through a Challenge Cup semi-final appearance, while Japan closed the gap with 14 points after earning two points in Canada. Both teams now threaten Kenya's position in the standings.
The team's struggles mark their worst performance since the 2016/2017 Paris Sevens, where they earned a single point. This season also represents their first failure to win a pool-stage match since the 2014/2015 Dubai Sevens.
South Africa claimed their first tournament victory of the season by defeating France 21-12 in Vancouver. Fiji secured bronze with a 24-14 win over the USA, while New Zealand finished fifth after beating England 26-19.
USA extended their Series lead to 113 points, seven ahead of New Zealand in second. Fiji and South Africa follow with 101 and 89 points respectively, while England rounds out the top five with 80 points.
