Super Solico and St Mary’s Ndovea Crowned Chapa Dimba Eastern Champions with Major Prizes

Mwingi-based Super Solico and Makueni’s St Mary’s Ndovea emerged as champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively at the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Eastern regional finals on March 10, 2019.

In the boys’ final, Super Solico defeated Isiolo Youngsters 4-3 in penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at Kitui Showground. The girls’ title was secured by St Mary’s Ndovea, who beat Chuka Starlets 2-1 in the same venue.

Each winning team received Sh200,000, with runners-up getting Sh100,000. Additional prizes included mobile phones, airtime, and medals. Super Solico’s goalkeeper Robert Ngusya won Sh30,000, while Isiolo Youngsters’ Ebrahim Abdisalan took Sh60,000 as top scorer.

In the girls’ category, Daisy Chirchir of St Mary’s Ndovea won the golden boot, Nancy Jepkemboi of Chuka Starlets was named best goalkeeper, and Nuru Hensley of St Mary’s Ndovea took the best player award, each receiving Sh30,000.

16 players from this edition will join a Spain camp organized by La Liga ahead of the national finals in June. The overall winner of the national event will claim Sh1 million in prize money.
