Kenyatta expressed condolences via Twitter following the Ethiopian Airlines crash that claimed 157 lives, including 149 passengers and eight crew members, with 33 nationalities aboard.
The aircraft lost contact six minutes after takeoff at 08:38 local time, en route to Nairobi, where it was expected to arrive within two hours.
Ethiopian Airlines' Corporate Communications Director, Mr. Asrat Begashaw, confirmed the fatalities to Ethiopia's state broadcaster.
