A fire that destroyed Freedom Ministries Church in Grandview, West Virginia, on March 3 left residents astonished by an unexpected discovery. Firefighters responding to the blaze faced extreme conditions, forcing them to temporarily retreat as flames consumed the building.
While assessing the damage, emergency personnel found a stack of Bibles and crosses that remained untouched by the fire. The Coal City Department shared photos of the intact religious artifacts on Facebook, noting the remarkable preservation.
"In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single Bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed," the post stated. The department's message included images of approximately a dozen Bibles undamaged by the inferno.
"Though the odds were against us, God was not," firefighters added in the post, which gained widespread attention online. The incident has sparked discussions about the circumstances surrounding the fire's impact on the church's contents.
