A video circulating on social media captures Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho directing traffic in the city center, wearing a reflective jacket and engaging with motorists during rush hour.

The footage, shared by user Ahmed Mohamed on March 9, 2019, shows Joho interacting with drivers as he manages traffic flow in the congested Central Business District. The coastal city continues to face challenges with matatus and tuktuks competing for space on its roads.

Efforts to ease congestion include a 2016 initiative that reduced roundabouts and the 2019 opening of the Kipevu West Road, which shortened travel times to the Mombasa International Airport and Standard Gauge Railway terminus. A Dongo Kundu bypass also provides alternative routes to key transport hubs.

Despite these measures, traffic management remains a persistent issue. Earlier this week, another video surfaced showing Joho dancing with Likoni MP Mishi Mboko atop a vehicle, continuing the governor's recent public engagement moments.
