Kwale County has implemented a cashless payment system in collaboration with Safaricom, enabling 700,000 residents to settle various fees through M-Pesa. The initiative allows payment for market levies, parking charges, and cess via a specialized PayBill number, aiming to enhance service efficiency and transparency.
County Executive Committee Member for Revenue, Amos Onduko, stated the partnership aligns with the county's goals to modernize service delivery. "This development will boost Kwale County's efforts to increase efficiency and accountability in our operations," he said.
