A Nairobi mother accused of shaving her daughter's hair with a knife and burning her with hot water was released on a Sh30,000 bond following her arrest, according to court records.
Diana Ochieng faces charges of assaulting her minor daughter at their home in Umoja slums. The incident occurred after the teenager returned from a salon visit and spent time with friends, according to police reports.
Witnesses stated the woman used a blade to cut the girl's hair and then poured hot water on her, causing injuries. Neighbors attempting to intervene found the mother remained in the residence for an extended period while treating the child's wounds.
