On a day that will be remembered for a long time, Embakasi West Member of Parliament George Theuri proved that what a man can do, a woman can do better – by taking on the daunting task of caring for his youngest child for an entire day.
According to Theuri, the experience was not easy, as he admitted that it was very challenging to take care of the baby on his own.
Photos shared on social media show Theuri carrying the child on his back using a lesso, with the baby's head and arms precariously dangling out of the protective cove made from the lesso.
Theuri's post on social media, which has left many Kenyans in stitches, read: 'Enyewe respect to all mums out there nimewachiwa mtoi enyewe sio job rahisi kushinda na mtoi kajamaa hauwezi kaelewa banaaaaaa. Nimeimba wimbo zote zimeisha sasa sijui nijaribu nini?' (Translation: 'Respect to all mums out there, taking care of a child is not an easy job and my fellow men cannot understand the challenges that come with it. I have sung all the songs and I don't know what to do next?')
The pictures of Theuri and his child have been trending on social media, with many Kenyans praising the MP for his efforts and offering words of encouragement.
