French airline Air France has announced plans to introduce two additional weekly flights between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, effective April 1. This expansion marks a key step in the carrier's Africa strategy.
Arthur Dieffenthaler, Air France's Eastern Africa General Manager, confirmed the move during a meeting with French business leaders. The new service will increase weekly departures on the Paris-Nairobi route to five, following the resumption of direct flights in 2018 after an 18-year gap.
The decision comes amid growing trade ties between Kenya and France, with Dieffenthaler noting increased booking activity since the route's revival. The expansion aligns with preparations for French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Kenya, which was discussed during the industry gathering.
