On July 31, 2019, a controversy erupted in the Kenyan entertainment scene when singer Madini Classic accused Eric Omondi of stealing his girlfriend, Assumpta Waeni.
Waeni, who has gained fame for her striking resemblance to Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobetto, has now come forward to clear her name.
According to Waeni, Eric Omondi had invited her out on several occasions, but she never showed up. She also shared screenshots with Madini Classic, which she claims prove her innocence.
Waeni expressed her gratitude towards Madini Classic, describing him as a 'humble, hardworking musician, loving and also caring gentleman.'
She also praised his new project, featuring Vivian, and encouraged Kenyans to support him.
Waeni's statement comes after Madini Classic accused Omondi of seducing and luring her with money for personal gains.
