Manchester United's Juan Mata Blasted by Fans for Diving in Preseason Friendly ¶
Manchester United's Juan Mata has been at the center of controversy after fans accused him of diving in a preseason friendly against Kristiansund in Norway.
According to reports, Mata won a penalty in the 90th minute of the game, which he then converted to give Manchester United a 1-0 win.
However, replays of the incident suggested that there was minimal contact between Mata and the Kristiansund player, leading many to accuse him of diving.
Some Manchester United fans took to social media to express their disappointment with Mata's actions, with one fan writing, 'Jeez what a shameless dive by Mata.'
Another fan, Tom, defended Mata, saying, 'Was it a dive? No, Did mata make a meal of it? Yes, But if contact is made you are in every right to go down.'
Manchester United's next friendly is against AC Milan, before they face Chelsea at Old Trafford in the Premier League season opener in 12 days' time.
