Presidential candidate Kingwa Kamenchu sparked controversy on International Women’s Day after sharing a topless photograph on social media. The image, which depicted her seated on the floor with her face turned away from the camera, was removed from her Facebook page shortly after posting.
Kamenchu captioned the post: "Contemplating the state of humanity. Happy International Women’s Day." The gesture reignited discussions about her history of provocative public displays.
Her 2017 activities included a nude appearance in a video for her show Madam President and a widely criticized statement claiming to have had sex with 49,634,821 men that year. "I am yet to meet my annual target of 50,000,000," she said, inviting "handsome men" to contact her. The statement was later retracted as a joke.
Kamenchu first gained public attention in 2011 at age 27 when she announced her presidential bid. She has since continued her political ambitions, recently declaring her intention to run for office in 2022 through the Kenyan Sex Party.
