The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has announced the Changamka Kenya Shopping Festival, a major event set for April at Kasarani Stadium designed to highlight locally produced goods for domestic, regional, and international markets.

Aligned with the Big 4 Agenda's manufacturing pillar, the festival seeks to strengthen global competitiveness, create sustainable jobs, and expand export opportunities. KAM Chairman Sachen Gudka emphasized that manufacturing competitiveness is critical to the success of Kenya's economic transformation agenda.

"If we are not competitive in our manufacturing agenda, the pillars of the Big 4 Agenda begin to crumble," Gudka stated during the Nairobi launch. "We must address competitiveness to achieve economic transformation, focusing on value addition and strengthening value chains to maximize natural resource benefits."

The event will also showcase innovations within the sector, offering locals access to new manufacturing developments. Linus Gitahi, chair of Brand Kenya, highlighted manufacturing's role in driving economic growth through job creation and increased consumer purchasing power.

KAM CEO Phyllis Wakiaga announced plans to establish a support hub for manufacturing SMEs during the summit, stating, "We welcome all Kenyans to take pride in what is made in Kenya. This hub will provide critical resources to strengthen the sector."
