Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has raised concerns about his safety after Zimbabwean preacher Ian Ndovu made a 2019 prediction about an East African politician's assassination, according to reports. The governor publicly warned of potential threats and pledged to strengthen security measures.
Ndovu, leader of the Divine Kingdom Ministry, stated in January 2019 that 'a high-profile hit or assassination could destabilize Kenya.' He emphasized the need for prayers for prominent Kenyan leaders, including non-government figures, from January to September 2019. 'There is one leader targeted for assassination among those,' he said.
Sonko later reiterated the preacher's prophecy, asserting, 'Whatever he prophesied happens.' The governor issued a challenge to anyone attempting to follow him, stating, 'Mtu ajaribu kunitrail usiku kama saizi aone.' No official confirmation of the prophecy's accuracy has been provided.
