Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has acknowledged his 2019 marriage to Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan as a significant error, stating it was unwise to pursue a relationship with someone nearly 40 years old.

In a public statement from March 2019, the artist—then in his late 20s—described the union as "suicidal" and vowed never to date an older woman again. He emphasized the risks of such relationships, citing his experience with Hassan as a cautionary tale.

"I have learned from my past mistakes and I thank God for it," Platnumz said. "Dating a woman who is way older than me was the worst mistake ever and I can never do it again." He reiterated, "Honestly, it’s suicide to fall for a woman who is almost 40 years old."

Platnumz is currently in a relationship with a young Kenyan woman named Tanasha, according to reports. The comments originated from a local publication covering the singer’s remarks in 2019.
