On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, opposition leader Raila Odinga took a break from his busy schedule to attend his granddaughter's annual sports day.
As he watched from the sidelines, Raila's face lit up with excitement, and at one point, he even rose to his feet to cheer on his granddaughter.
"It was a welcome change from the usual office rounds to attend my granddaughter's sports day this morning," he remarked. "Apart from the physical benefits, sports also inculcates the spirit of team work in our young as they grow up," he added.
Despite his busy schedule, Raila has always made time for his grandkids, whether at home or on vacation. In 2017, he spent Christmas day with his grandkids on the coastal beaches, watching beautiful sceneries and playing chess games.
