Residents of Grandview, West Virginia, are baffled by the aftermath of a fire that destroyed a local church. Firefighters responded to the blaze at Freedom Ministries Church on Sunday, encountering extreme conditions that forced them to retreat temporarily.
The Coal City Fire Department's Facebook post described the intensity of the flames, stating, "In your mind, everything should be burned, ashes. Not a single Bible was burned and not a single cross was harmed!" The post, which gained widespread attention, included images of a dozen intact Bibles surrounded by rubble.
The message emphasized, "Though the odds were against us, God was not," while noting no firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
