Kenyan authorities have launched an appeal for public assistance in locating two VIP security officers allegedly involved in damaging a civilian vehicle in Nairobi. The incident occurred on March 8, 2019, when Ms. Waithera Gaitho reported being struck by a vehicle carrying individuals designated as 'very important people.'

I've been hit by these 'very important' people while they were driving on the wrong side. Please help me find them. — Waithera Gaitho (@serahgaitho), March 8, 2019

The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed it had received Gaitho's complaint and issued a public call for information about the officers. The agency also advised the woman to file a formal report at the nearest police station.

Some of these officers have in the past been engaging in reckless behavior and have been harassing other motorists in the name of allowing their VIPs quick passage. — National Police Service-Kenya (@NPSOfficial_KE), March 8, 2019

A subsequent statement from NPS emphasized that all VIP security personnel must comply with traffic regulations. 'All officers on VIP security duties have therefore been instructed to stop this behavior forthwith; must therefore follow the highway code and obey the traffic law just like other motorists,' the agency stated.
