On Wednesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga announced that the late Ken Okoth, former Kibra Member of Parliament, will be cremated at a private function in Nairobi.
According to Odinga, the body will be transported to Kasipul Kabondo constituency in Homa Bay County on Saturday, August 3.
Speaking to the press at a Nairobi hotel, Odinga outlined the funeral arrangements, which include a memorial service at the Starehe Boys' Centre and School on Wednesday at 2pm, and a funeral service at the Moi Girls' High School in Nairobi on Thursday, August 1, at 11am.
After the funeral service, the body will be taken to Rateng' Secondary School in Kabondo Kasipul constituency, where a final funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 3.
“Ken will be given to the family to do the rest, just like we did with Kenneth Matiba, so the family will do the rest,” said Odinga.
Okoth succumbed to late-diagnosed colorectal cancer on Friday last week at the Nairobi Hospital.
