A Reuters photo from July 16, 2018, captured Netflix's Hollywood headquarters as the streaming company announced Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Bennett's departure after seven years in the role. During his tenure, Netflix's paid subscriber base expanded fivefold to 139 million, according to the statement.

Bennett joined Netflix in 2012 following a decade at Warner Brothers, where he contributed to developing series like "House of Cards," "Orange is the New Black," and "Narcos." His leadership coincided with the company's global expansion into original content production.

In a statement, Bennett noted, "The past seven years have been the most rewarding of my professional life, and we are at the top of our game, which is why this was the right moment for me to retire." He will remain through a transition period while the company searches for a successor.

The departure follows other executive exits, including finance chief David Wells in August 2018 and communication head Jonathan Friedland, who resigned in June 2018 over controversial remarks. Netflix's stock declined 1% to $356.73 in afternoon trading, reflecting market concerns about leadership changes.
