Kuria's claim appeared in a Twitter thread responding to an online discussion with Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohammed. The statement, which lacked supporting evidence, referenced Odinga as 'Baba' and stated: 'It is now clear that there is no longer a political party known as Jubilee.'

Kuria, a Jubilee Party legislator representing Kenyatta's home constituency, made the remarks amid growing factional tensions within the ruling party. The party faced further instability with the March 2019 resignation of Vice Chairman David Murathe, a key Kenyatta ally, highlighting deepening fractures within the coalition.
