Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria asserted in a March 2019 social media post that President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party no longer exists, attributing its collapse to internal conflicts and opposition leader Raila Odinga's influence.

Kuria's claim appeared in a Twitter thread responding to an online discussion with Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohammed. The statement, which lacked supporting evidence, referenced Odinga as 'Baba' and stated: 'It is now clear that there is no longer a political party known as Jubilee.'

Kuria, a Jubilee Party legislator representing Kenyatta's home constituency, made the remarks amid growing factional tensions within the ruling party. These disputes involved clashes between Kenyatta allies and Deputy William Ruto's supporters over anti-corruption investigations and Ruto's 2022 presidential campaign.

The party faced further instability with the March 2019 resignation of Vice Chairman David Murathe, a key Kenyatta ally, highlighting deepening fractures within the coalition.
