Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of systemic bias in anti-corruption enforcement, claiming Kalenjin officials face disproportionate scrutiny compared to members of other communities.
In a public letter and social media statement from 2019, Sudi highlighted disciplinary actions against Kalenjin executives while alleging similar misconduct by non-Kalenjin officials went unaddressed. He specifically referenced the 2012 dismissal of Kenya Power Managing Director Ken Tarus and Kenya Pipeline chief Joe Sang amid corruption investigations.
"You orchestrated the prosecution of Joe Sang over a Kisumu fuel jetty project whose construction was directed by Joseph Kinyua to board chair John Ngumi," Sudi wrote. "Ngumi cannot be prosecuted because he is your man, not to mention Kinyua." The MP argued Sang was following board directives, suggesting selective enforcement of anti-graft policies.
Sudi challenged the president to address perceived political motivations openly, stating, "It doesn't require rocket science to see your so-called fight against corruption targets individuals and a community contrary to your assertions." This follows Uhuru's public invitation for Sudi to pursue legal action through the DCI if he believes he has misappropriated funds.
The allegations coincide with a 2012 copyright notice in the original source material, which also included a warning about unauthorized reproduction of content.
