Several African nations, including South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone, have acknowledged Kenya's leadership in adopting innovative technologies. Kenya itself has integrated AI and blockchain into sectors like healthcare, transportation, and agriculture, according to the AI and Blockchain Task Force.
Michael Onyango, a task force member, emphasized the initiative's focus on education reform: "The AI and Blockchain Task Force is implementing radical changes in the education sector to enhance national learning capabilities." The group plans to release a public roadmap outlining Kenya's strategy for AI and distributed ledger technologies.
Trescon CEO Mohammed Saleem stated, "African countries facing poverty and governance challenges stand to gain most from AI and ML advancements. Hosting this summit in Kenya reflects the nation's growing adoption of these technologies and its potential for transformation." The event will include panel discussions, tech talks, and presentations from industry leaders.
Sophia, the world's first humanoid robot, will join speakers such as Dr. Bitange Ndemo, chairman of the AI and Blockchain Task Force, highlighting the intersection of cutting-edge technology and policy development.
