Michael Kulundu, the acting managing director of Nzoia Sugar Company, has died from injuries sustained during a violent abduction in Bungoma last month, according to family members.
The 54-year-old executive was reportedly kidnapped and subjected to torture in January before being left for dead in Kanduyi, a suburb of Bungoma town, authorities confirmed.
He was discovered unconscious in a trench approximately 100 meters from Salmond View Restaurant hours after the attack, according to medical reports. A hospital official described severe trauma, including a head scar, dislocated shoulder, and multiple lacerations on his hands, chest, and legs.
Local police have not yet identified any suspects or provided a motive for the attack, leaving the case unresolved as of now.
