Solarise Africa, a pioneering clean energy leasing company based in Nairobi, has successfully closed its second round of Series A funding. The investment, led by EAV and ElectriFI, a flexible financial facility funded by the European Union, marks a significant milestone in the company's pan-African expansion.

Founded in 2018, Solarise Africa provides innovative financing solutions to commercial and industrial businesses, enabling them to deploy clean energy systems, such as solar, with minimal upfront investment and manageable payments. By driving a shift away from costly and unreliable energy sources, the company helps its clients improve their cost base and productivity.

According to Dominiek Deconinck, Manager at ElectriFI, “Solarise Africa is a crucial addition to Africa’s captive energy ecosystem. By removing the financing hurdle, Solarise Africa is helping to bring high-quality, reliable, low-cost, clean energy to Africa’s under-served commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.”

With the additional funding, Solarise Africa will now focus on expanding its operations across the continent, with a strong presence in Kenya, where it has already deployed three projects and developed an extensive pipeline. The company's CEO, Jan Albert Valk, emphasized the importance of sustainable energy solutions in driving development in Africa, lowering the carbon footprint, and providing access to safe and affordable services.

As Africa's growing technological capabilities facilitate a thriving economy, solar power emerges as the clear and most cost-effective energy source. With Solarise Africa at the forefront of this revolution, the company is poised to play a significant role in shaping the continent's energy landscape.
