The Embu County Assembly approved a Sh6.7 billion supplementary budget to cover expenditures for the next three months, resolving a delay caused by conflicts between county officials and the executive branch. The funding includes Sh67 million for drug procurement and Sh87 million to implement a nurses' Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Deputy Speaker Steve Munene emphasized that the Liaison Committee developed a balanced plan to address critical sectors, including healthcare. The budget's passage follows months of negotiations between the County Assembly and the executive leadership.
